ELIZABETHTOWN, PA – The York College women's basketball team had their offense click on Sunday as they rolled past Delaware Valley 83-53 in the consolation game of the Yonnie Kauffman Blue Jay Tournament in Elizabethtown, PA.
The Spartans scored 31 points in the first half and didn't look back from there as they cruised to their most lopsided win of the year. York placed a season-high four players in double figures in the win. The victory snaps a three-game losing skid for the Spartans.
York improves to 4-7 overall while the Aggies fall to 6-6.

How It Happened
• The Aggies got on the board first with a Haley Keenan bucket six seconds into the game. The Spartans responded with a 22-0 run kick started by five points from
Bradi Zumbrum.
Taylor Burda hit back-to-back threes on the run as the Spartans seized control of the game early. After the Aggies halted the run with another Keenan score, the Spartans ripped off a 9-0 run as
Alyssa Hocker and
Carey Smith threes sandwiched a three-point play from
Savannah Wilson to push the lead to 27. Delaware Valley scored the final five points of the stanza as York led 31-9 after 10 minutes of play.
• The Spartans continued to play well in the second quarter though the scoring pace slowed significantly. The Aggies trimmed the York lead to 17 at 34-17 but the Spartans outscored Delaware Valley 15-2 over the final 6:28 of the quarter to take a 49-19 lead at the break.
• The third quarter was back and forth as before the Spartans built the lead to a high-water mark of 36 on a trio of Smith free throws with 3:42 remaining in the quarter. The Aggies went on an 11-3 run to end the period as the Spartans led 69-41 after 30 minutes of play.
• The Spartan lead bounced between 30 and 35 points over the final quarter before the Green and White settled for the 30-point victory.

By the Numbers
The Spartans' 83 points were a season high by 16 points, besting the previous high of 67 points at Eastern on December 3 … the Spartans went 12-for-23 (52.2%) from three … the 12 threes were a season high while the 52% accuracy mark was their best of the year and marks just the third time this year they have shot better than 40% from three in a game … York made a season-high 19 free throw attempts as they shot 67.9% from the charity stripe … York recorded a season-high 14 steals in the win … the Spartans out-rebounded DVU 43-29, their biggest rebounding margin of the year … York's 31 points in the first quarter was not only their biggest first quarter of the year offensively, it was also their biggest scoring quarter of the year … the previous best first quarter came against Eastern with 17 points while their previous best quarter was also against Eastern when York scored 22 in the fourth period … Alexis Wright led three double figure scorers for Delaware Valley as she scored 15 off the bench for the Aggies … the loss was the Aggies biggest of the year … DVU lost their two games in the tournament by a combined 55 points.

The Spartans evened the all-time series at one win each with the victory … the two teams had not faced off in over 22 years as the Aggies won the last match up 75-67 on November 17, 2000 in York … sophomore
Taylor Burda earned All-Tournament team honors as scored 16 points, grabbed five rebounds and dished out three assists … senior
Savannah Wilson tied a season-high with 20 points with a very efficient shooting day … Wilson was 6-for-9 from the field including 2-for-3 from three while she made 6-of-7 from the free throw line … Wilson also had five rebounds, six assists and four steals in 27 minutes of action … senior
Tori Geitner poured in a career-high 13 points as she was 5-for-7 from the floor including 3-for-5 from three while she also had three steals … freshman
Carey Smith was the fourth Spartan in double figures with a career-high 10 points … junior
Alyssa Hocker had eight points and a career-high eight rebounds … freshman
Molly Gutshall scored her first two collegiate points with a pair of fourth quarter free throws.
