Team Records
York 0-1
(RV) Johns Hopkins 1-0

How It Happened
  • The Spartans struggled to gain traction early as they opened the game scoreless on their first five possessions, but the damage was limited as Hopkins only managed to score five points during that span. Savannah Wilson drained a three-pointer to tie the score, 5-5, but then the Blue Jays went on an 11-6 run led by Sophie deBettencourt's six points to take a 16-8 lead. York gained a little momentum back as they owned a 4-2 scoring advantage in the final two minutes with Hopkins taking an 18-12 lead into the first quarter break.
  • York went 3-for-4 from the field through the first three minutes of play in the second quarter, highlighted by a Tori Geitner trey that cut the Blue Jay lead to three, 22-19. The two teams traded buckets over the next six minutes, but Hopkins owned a 14-7 edge on the scoreboard during that span to take a 36-26 lead heading into the final minute of the half. The Spartans received a little bit of lift heading into the halftime break when Wilson knocked down a legitimate half court shot to cut into the Blue Jay. Bradi Zumbrum led the way for York in the second quarter as she scored nine points in the period, including seven of the last 10 for the Green and White.
  • Both teams scored on their first two possessions to start the third quarter with Taylor Burda accounting for all five of York's points as the Spartans trailed by just six through the first 84 seconds of the period. Unfortunately, the Spartans would go on a near five-minute scoring drought as they failed to connect on their next six possessions and fell behind 48-34. Burda snapped the scoreless streak with her second three-pointer of the quarter with 3:45 left as York went on to match Hopkins point for point through the final three minutes, but the Blue Jays maintained a double-digit advantage at heading into the fourth leading 53-42.
  • The two teams played a very even fourth quarter as the Blue Jays maintained their double-digit lead. Zumbrum led all players with eight points in the period as she went 3-for-4 from the line and 2-for-2 from the free throw line with a steal and a block.
