How It Happened
• The Spartans got off to a great start as they sprinted out to an 8-0 lead just 3:32 into the game. The Greyhounds finally got on the board with 4:48 left in the quarter thanks to a Tessa Zamolyi bucket. That started a 15-2 run that covered almost the remainder of the quarter.
Tori Geitner hit a bucket with three seconds left in the quarter to trim the Moravian lead to 15-12.
• Moravian opened the second quarter with four quick points to push their lead to seven. York trimmed their deficit to two at 21-19 with 3:34 left but Moravian scored the final four points of the quarter to take a 25-19 lead at the break. York scored just seven points in the second quarter but Moravian wasn't much better as they only scored 10.
• The Greyhounds pushed the lead to nine early in the third quarter. After a
Savannah Wilson bucket, Moravian increased the lead to 12 at 35-23. The teams traded buckets in the final 1:11 of the quarter as the Greyhounds took a 37-25 lead to the final quarter. Moravian doubled up the Spartans 12-6 in the quarter.
• York began the fourth quarter with a nice 11-2 run to cut their deficit to three at 39-36 with 7:28 left in the game. That would be as close as the Spartans would get. Tessa Zamolyi hit a lay-up to slow the Spartan momentum. Moravian put together a 7-2 run that gave the Greyhounds an eight-point lead with 4:01 left in the game. The Spartans just ran out of gas as Moravian pushed the lead back to 11 before settling for the eight point win.
