York 2-4
#25 Messiah 4-2

How It Happened
  • The Spartans claimed the first bucket of the evening with a Savannah Wilson layup on York's opening possession, but the rest of the first quarter belonged to the Falcons as they went on a 15-0 run while York missed their next five from the floor. An Alyssa Hocker free throw broke up the Messiah run with 2:15 left in the period and Bradi Zumbrum scored from the paint with 90 seconds left as Messiah owned a 17-5 lead after quarter of play. York shot just 2-for-11 from the floor while Messiah finished 5-for-17 with a 3-for-7 effort from three.
  • The Falcon lead continued to swell in the second quarter as Messiah remained efficient from three with a 4-for-7 performance in the period. The Spartans struggled to keep pace as they went just 1-for-12 in the second period and trailed 33-12 at the halftime break. York managed to put double-digits on the board with a 5-for-6 effort from the free throw line with Zumbrum accounting for four of those five made shots in the quarter.
  • York put together a double-digit scoring effort with 12 points in the third quarter despite their two leading scorers, Zumbrum and Wilson, sitting out due to foul trouble and injury. Taylor Brenneman led the way for York with five points as she went 2-for-2 from the floor with a made free throw. Messiah remained hot from beyond the three-point arc with a 4-for-6 performance in the quarter as the Falcons extended their lead to 55-24 through 30 minutes of play.
  • The Spartans closed out the game strong as they out-scored Messiah, 15-14, in the fourth quarter with a 5-for-12 effort from the field while shooting 3-for-5 from the free throw line. Taylor Burda led the way for York with six fourth-quarter points as she shot 2-for-4 from three.
