Penn State Berks 8-3-2

How It Happened
  • The two teams combined for 12 first-half shots and five corners despite playing to a scoreless draw. Spartan keeper Jacqueline Keogh made four saves as she faced a total of 8 shots in the first 45 minutes of play.
  • The Spartans rushed out to a two-goal just minutes after the second-half kickoff. Makayla Harper finished inside the left post 44 seconds in as she took advantage of a mishandle by Lion keeper Sophia Gonzalez. Harper again found the back of the net in the 47th minute when she knocked in a rebound off Gonzalez's hands to put York up, 2-0.
  • The York lead was short-lived as Berks tallied a pair of goals 1:06 apart just 12 minutes after Harper's second. Adriana Lepera finished a cross from teammate Faith Wavershak to get the Lions on the board in the 59th minute. Moments later, Emily Clapper chipped a shot out of the reach of substitute Spartan keeper Teresa Gonzalez for the equalizer right at the 60-minute mark.
  • York brought pressure down the stretch, but failed to break the 2-2 draw. The Spartans combined for four shots on goal in the final 24 minutes, including a pair by Sabrina McGuigan. Alyssa Russell supplied one last gasp of hope for York in the 87th minute, but her shot found the post and fell harmlessly out of play.
