How it Happened
• The Spartans were ice cold early as they didn't get their first basket until Savannah Wilson drilled a three 2:59 into the first quarter. That three blew the lid off the bucket as York scored the next 12 points to take a 12-2 lead. After an Ashya Gaddy lay-up, the Spartans finished the quarter on a 12-2 run to take a 24-6 advantage after 10 minutes of play. York forced 10 first quarter Eastern turnovers which they turned into 14 points.
• The Spartans kept rolling in the second quarter as they built the lead to 25 (33-18) on a pair of Wilson free throws with 7:17 left in the quarter. York maintained the lead as the scoring pace slowed with the Spartans shooting just 31.6% (6-for-19) for the quarter. York took a 40-14 lead at the half. They limited Eastern to just eight second quarter points as the Eagles were just 4-for-13 (30.8%) from the floor.
• The third quarter proved to be a more offensive period for both squads as York put up their second 24-point quarter of the game. The Spartans shot 53.3% (8-for-15) in the quarter including 3-for-5 from three and 5-for-6 from the line. Eastern scored 17 points in the quarter but the Spartan still managed to increase their lead to 32 at the end of 30 minutes of play.
• The fourth quarter was close as the Spartans got quality time for their reserves. York outscored the Eagles 16-11 in the quarter to cruise to the 37-point win.
