How It Happened
• The Spartans wasted little time in getting on the board in just over five minutes into the game. Maggie Spadafora carried the ball into the circle and flipped a pass high towards the left post. Junior Hannah Huffman batted the ball out of the air into the goal for the 1-0 Spartan lead. The goal was Huffman's team-leading sixth goal of the year.
• Spadafora added to the Spartan lead in the 12th minute of the game as she carried a ball in from the right wing. She unleashed a shot that caromed off Juniata goalie Nicole Piccioni and tricked across the goal line for the 2-0 Spartan lead.
• York made it 3-0 four minutes into the second quarter as Riley Buschert collected a loose ball on the left wing and pushed a beautiful centering pass to Spadafora who tapped the ball in for her second goal of the night.
• The Spartans outshot the Eagles 14-0 in the first half and held a 6-0 margin in shots on goal.
• York continued to pressure the Eagles in the third quarter as they had eight shots on 10 penalty corners but Piccioni kept York from scoring in the third thanks to seven saves in the quarter.
• The Spartans capped the scoring in the fourth period as Lindsay Cowan blasted a shot from the top of the circle off a Reese Hardman penalty corner pass to push the York lead to 4-0.
• York finished the game with a 30-1 advantage in total shots and a 22-1 margin in penalty corners.
