ST. MARY'S CITY, MD – The sixth ranked St. Mary's College Seahawks blanked the Spartans 3-0 in non-conference action in St. Mary's City on Wednesday night. The Spartans and Seahawks squared off as non-conference for the first time in the long running series.
The Spartans' two losses this year have come to teams ranked in the top 15 in the country.

How It Happened
• The Seahawks jumped on the Spartans early as Roshawn Panton found the back of the net just 6:59 into the game. The goal came on the first shot of the game for the Seahawks and was Panton's fourth goal of the year.
• The Spartans were able to get back into the flow of the game and fire off four shot over the next 14 minutes of the game but couldn't find the back of the net. The Seahawks made it 2-0 in the 22^nd minute as Jack Eskay fed Noah Gregerman for his first goal of the year as the hosts pushed out to the two-goal advantage.
• St. Mary's pressured the Spartans with back to back shots that were saved by York. The first shot resulted in a save from goalie Brady Bixler and the second shot was cleared off the line by a Spartan defender.
• St. Mary's outshot York 10-6 in the first half including 5-1 in shots on goal. The Seahawks had a 3-2 margin in corner kicks.
• Panton struck again just under ten minutes into the second half to put the Hawks up 3-0.
• The Spartans were a little better offensively in the second half as they put three shots on goal but that wouldn't be enough for the Green and White.

The Spartans have lost four straight against St. Mary's but the Spartans lead the overall series 30-9-1 … York was shutout for the second time this year … York reached double figures in shots for the third time this year with 12 … York is 0-2 against ranked teams in 2021 … The Spartans have been outshot in four of the five games … York has been out cornered 31-17 for the year including 10-3 in Wednesday's game.

The Spartans head back out on the road Saturday afternoon as they head to Bridgewater, Virginia to face the Eagles in a non-conference contest. Bridgewater is coming off a 7-0 win over Southern Virginia on Tuesday. Kick off is set for 4:00 pm at the Jopson Field Athletic Complex.
