How It Happened
• The Spartans struck early as

• York's second goal came in the 31
st minute as
Noah Roche collected the ball along the left wing on a great touch from
Drew Ruehlicke. Roche sprinted past a River Hawks defender and carried the ball towards the outside of the box. He struck a brilliant cross to
Sean Metz who one-timed the ball back inside the far left post for the 2-0 Spartan lead.
• The Spartans held a slight 8-6 edge in first half shots while they had a 3-1 advantage in corner kicks in the opening 45 minutes of play.
• York made the score 3-0 in the 67
th minute as Roche took a midfield pass from
Ryan McElwain and made a great run down the left wing. He spotted
McClain Smith who was sprinting down the center of the field. Roche flipped a pass to Smith who tapped home the finish for the goal, his first of the year.
• Less than ten minutes later, the Spartans struck again and again Roche was involved. Roche again drove the ball down the field left of the box. He fired a pass to the middle to Ruehlicke who hit the ball that was saved by goalie Gerrit Stech. The ball popped up in front of the net and Metz finished off the chance with a tap in goal, his second of the day.
• The River Hawks spoiled the shutout with 29 seconds left in regulation. York turned the ball over deep in their defensive zone. Owen Healey collected the loose ball, dribbled to the left and finished the shot across the goal mouth for Susquehanna's tally.
