CHESTER, PA – The York College women's track & field team concluded their stay at the 2021 Middle Athletic Conference championships at Widener University in Chester, PA.
The Spartans finished ninth of 14 teams as they totaled 51 points. Messiah won the team title with a score of 172 points. Misericordia finished second with 122 points followed Alvernia at 113 points. The host Pride finished fourth (81 points) while Stevens rounded out the top five with 80.5 points.
The Spartans had a trio of medal performances. Sophomore Julia Pena finished second in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 14.89. Pena's time set a new PR, besting her preliminary time by .10 seconds. Pena finished third in the long jump with a best distance of 5.20.
Senior Sydney Fitzwater capped her outstanding Spartan career with a third place finish in the shot put with a best distance of 11.93 meters.

The meet concludes the Spartans' first ever season in the Middle Atlantic Conference. The Spartans will return to action in December as they will open the 2021-22 indoor season.
