Spartan Women Finish Second at Misericordia Twilight Meet

DALLAS, PA – The York College women's track and field team placed second at the eight team Misericordia Twilight Meet on Friday in Dallas, PA.

The Spartans finished with 132 points to earn the runner-up finish. Host Misericordia easily outdistanced the field with 300 points to win the title. Alvernia (83 points) and King's (78 points) rounded out the top four.

The Spartans had a pair of individual winners as Hayden Divers captured victory in the discus while Julia Pena won the pole vault. Pena also had a runner-up finish in the long jump while she was also the anchor of the 4x100 relay team that finished second.

Amy McGee had a pair of top five finishes as she was second in the hammer and fourth in the javelin. Becca Fisher recorded two fifth place finishes in the shot and the discus.

Kristin Bria finished third in the 100 meter dash, fourth in the 200 meter dash and was lead off on the 4x100 relay team.

The Spartans recorded 15 top five individual finishes during the meet.

Sophomore Hayden Divers set a new PR in the discus with her throw of 37.75 meters … Divers owns the second best distance in the discus in the MAC this year … Junior Sarah Skane set a new PR in the 800 with her time of 2:32.11 … sophomore Julia Pena still owns the top marks in the MAC in the pole vault and the long jump while she also has the second best mark in the 100 hurdles … Amy McGee set a new career best in the hammer with a distance of 38.32 meters.

 

Up Next

The Spartans will have their final MAC Championships tune-up meet on Saturday, April 24 at the Widener University Invitational. The meet is set for a 10:00 am start.
