Women's T&F Has Strong Weekend in a Pair of Meets

CHESTER, PA – The York College women's track & field team participated in a pair of meets this weekend as they traveled to Messiah on Friday for a Distance Carnival followed by a meet at Widener on Saturday.

The Spartans finished third of eight teams on Friday night and Saturday's MAC Only Meet at Widener didn't have a team score.

Sophomore Julia Pena continues her highly successful season as she won the long jump and pole vault while she finished second in the 100 hurdles.

Senior Sydney Fitzwater earned a pair of top fives as she was third in the hammer throw and fifth in the shot put. Her throw of 41.72 in the hammer set a new school record.
