Match One
Team Records
York 11-5
(RV) Susquehanna 13-5

How It Happened
  • The Spartans were three points away from clinching the first set as they led 22-15, but Susquehanna erased the seven-point deficit and ultimately won the set, 27-25. The River Hawks chipped away to keep the set alive and then used a 5-0 run to take a 25-24 lead, aided by a trio of Spartan attack errors on the run. Abby Diehl led all players with eight assists in the opening set, while Claire Shorb paced York with five kills.
  •  The Spartans battled from behind through the entire second set as the River Hawks opened with a 5-1 lead. York cut the deficit to one (6-5), but Susquehanna never relinquished control and pulled away down the stretch to win the set, 25-15.
  • Susquehanna controlled the momentum again to start the third set, ripping off a 5-0 run to open the set. York scratched its way back and took a 10-9 as Tyler Williams led the way with a pair of kills and a pair of block assists. Williams would go on to tally a kill for York's 26th point and Diehl would notch the winning service ace as the Spartans took the third set, 27-25. Megan Rizzi also came up big for York in the third with a team-leading five kills and Jasmine Doguin recorded nine digs to lead all players.
  • The fourth set started out even before Susquehanna ripped off an 11-2 to take a 19-10 advantage. The River Hawks went on to ride the momentum to a 25-16 victory and clinched the match as they hit a staggering .433 in the third set with 15 kills.

Match Two
Team Records

York 11-6
Stevens  16-3

How It Happened
  • After a 10-10 tie, Stevens broke out on a 9-1 run with five kills to take a 19-10 lead. York struggled to gain traction as the Spartans hit .000 in the set and the Ducks rolled to a 25-19 victory.
  • Megan Rizzi notched the winning kill in a 25-23 victory in the second set after crucial back-to-back attack errors by Stevens. Neither team could get much going offensively in the set as both hit below .100 in a back-and-forth battle.
  • The attack errors piled up for York midway through the third set, which allowed Stevens to open up a sizable lead at 18-11 and the Ducks capped off the 7-0 run with back-to-back service aces. York made a run of its own to cut the deficit to four (20-16), but the hill was just too steep to climb as the Ducks went on to win, 25-17. Rizzi led all players with five kills in the set as she hit .364 and also added three blocks.
  • Leading 18-16 in the fourth set, Stevens went on to score seven of the next eight points with  four kills. The Ducks hit .357 as a team in the fourth set with just three errors.
