YORK, PA – The York College men's soccer team begins their first Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth tournament on Monday night in York.
The Spartans earned the fourth seed in the tournament and will host fifth-seeded Stevenson University in the opening round game at Graham Field. The winner of the game travels to Grantham, PA on Wednesday to face the top seeded Messiah University in the Commonwealth tournament semifinals.

The Series
The Spartans lead the all-time series against the Mustangs 21-1-4 as they won the 2021 match up 2-1 last week … the Spartans and Mustangs were together in the Capital Athletic Conference from 2007 to 2011 where the Spartans went 8-0 all-time as conference opponents … two of the four ties have come in the last four meetings … those two ties were both scoreless and came on September 9, 2017 and September 4, 2019 at Graham Field while the last two Spartan wins were both 2-1 results on September 5, 2018 at Stevenson and last Wednesday at Graham Field … Stevenson's lone victory over York came on September 5, 1998 in the opening round of the Spartan Classic in York.

Last Time We Met
The Spartans picked up a 2-1 victory over the Mustangs last Wednesday evening as York got a pair of goals just 1:05 apart late in the first half to take control of the contest.
Noah Roche notched the first goal in the 41
st minute and
Ethan Lassen notched his second goal of the year a minute later. Stevenson's Brian Ventura scored an unassisted goal in the 82
nd minute to make it close at the end of the game. The Spartans out shot the Mustangs 13-5 including 7-1 in shots on goal. York held a 5-1 margin in corner kicks.
