How It Happened:

• After an hour and forty minute weather delay, the Spartans got on the board first when sophomore Dana Meehling lifted a shot up and over the goalie's outstretched arms and perfectly placed it in the opposite corner of the goal to give York an early 1-0 lead 11:49 into the contest.

• Lindsay Nye added a goal early in the second half off a lifted pass from Dana Meehling to give the Spartans a 2-0 advantage.

• At the 51:29 mark of the second half, Meghan Heary was on the receiving end of a beautiful long pass fromGreta Plappert and muscled a shot past the Blue Jay keeper off her left pad and it trickled into the net to give the Spartans a three-goal advantage.

• Hopkins finally got on the board two minutes later when Sarah Matyas scored off an assist from Seema Sajjan to cut the Spartans lead down to two.

• York answered quickly, again two minutes later, when Julea Truskey finished off a pass from Lindsay Nye after the Blue Jay keeper made one save but could not recover and make another and the Spartans pushed their lead back up to three, 4-1.

• Not even a minute later the comeback started for the Blue Jays, Izzy Thompson tapped in a pinpoint pass across the face of the goal from Michaela Corvi. Only a few minutes later Katie McErlean converted on a penalty stroke after being taken out in front of the goal and the lead was only one for the Spartans with just under ten minutes to play.

• With just over two minutes to play, Abby Birk took advantage of a misplay by the York defense and capitalized by finding the back of the net and tying the game 4-4.

• It only took 66 seconds for Hopkins to break the hearts of the Spartans after tying the game as Michaela Corvi scored on her 10th shot of the game on a diving shot off a cross-field pass by Maddie Brown-Scherer to steal the win 5-4.
