How It Happened:

• The Blue Jays blitzed the Spartans early with a Grace Hillman goal a mere 1:51 into the game. Hillman collected a deflection off the keeper and punched home her first goal of the year.

• Hopkins made it 2-0 just over 11 minutes later when Clare Kavanagh poked in another rebound for the goal as the Blue Jays took control of the game.

• The Green and White offense came to life eight minutes later as Autumn Mallory (Leonardtown, Md./Leonardtown) pounced on a rebound from a Kenidy Kubitz (Boyertown, Pa./Oley Valley) shot and stuck the ball into the back of the cage for her sixth goal of the year.

• The Spartans tied the game up just over three minutes later as Paige Taylor (York, Pa./Red Lion) fired in a back handed shot around the goalie, tying the game at two with 11 minutes left in the opening half.

• The Spartan offense continued to push forward and that pressure would yield another Paige Taylor goal. Amanda Boclair (Malvern, Pa./Great Valley) fired a shot that was saved by Zoey Atabek but Taylor was right there to stick home the rebound for the 3-2 Spartan lead.

• Freshman Greta Plappert (York, Pa./Central York) notched her first collegiate goal 2:16 later as she went 1-on-1 against Atabek and finished off the shot glove side, giving York the 4-2 lead at the half.

• The offensive pace kept up starting the second half as Kavanagh beat Eve Hauptle (Alexandria, Va./West Potomac) who had charged out of the goal for the Blue Jays' third goal of the game. The goal was Kavanagh's second of the game and fourth of the year. Kavanagh's goal came just 1:30 into the second half.

• Taylor recorded her first career hat trick with a goal off a pass from Lindsay Nye (Duncannon, Pa./Susquenita). Nye stole a Hopkins outlet pass and flicked a pass to Taylor who again beat Atabek to her glove side for the 5-3 York lead.

• Nye made it 6-3 in the 57th minute as Ali Posey (Airville, Pa./Red Lion) hit a rocket from the top of the circle. Plappert deflected it to Nye who finished off the chance for her conference leading 11th goal of the year.

• Posey added to the lead in the 64th minute as she scored on a laser beam shot from inside the circle to make it 7-3 York.

• The Blue Jays answered 1:02 later as Bridget Hampton scored off a cross from Victoria Piscopo. Piscopo's cross was high and Hampton batted it into the cage for her first goal of the year.
