GAME HIGHLIGHTS

• The Yellow Jackets jumped on the Spartans early as they sprinted out to a 10-2 lead just 3:18 into the game. York cut the lead to six on five different occasions. York finally drew to within five on a Matt Scamuffo three pointer with 6:51 left in the first half. The Yellow Jackets responded with a 6-1 spurt to push the lead back to 10 a mere two minutes later. York again cut the lead to five, this time on a Jason Bady three with 1:47 remaining in the first. The Yellow Jackets scored five of the final seven points of the half to take a 37-29 lead to the break.

• RMC came out of the half and got a Michael Taylor three pointer 20 seconds into the period as it looked like the Green and White were on the brink of getting blown out. Then the Spartan defense locked in as they limited the Yellow Jackets to just six points over the next nine minutes of play. That allowed the Spartans to cut the RMC lead to four at 46-42 with 10:24 left in the game. Unfortunately for the Green and White, they wouldn't be able to capitalize on their defensive efforts as the offense managed to score just 13 points while the defense was playing well.

• The Yellow Jackets started to pull away courtesy of a 14-3 run. RMC hit a number of back-breaking shots late in the shot clock as they continued to keep the Spartans at arms length. The RMC lead peaked at 63-47 with 4:06 but the Spartans had one last run in them as York fashioned an 11-1 spurt to cut their deficit to 64-58 with 1:53 left. York drew to within five at 66-61 with 43 seconds left but it would prove to be a little too late for York as the Yellow Jackets won their second straight R-MC Coaches Tournament title.
