The lead would bounce back and forth before the Green and White took a 29-27 lead on a pair of Myers free throws with 30 seconds left in the half. After a UMW free throw from Jacob Williams, senior Brad Wesner hit a huge floater from the left block with three seconds left in the half, giving York all the momentum and a 31-28 lead heading to the locker room.

• The Green and White got off to a quick start in the second half, pushing the lead to eight, just over two minutes into the stanza. The Eagles responded with an 8-0 run of their own to tie the game at 36 with 15:36 left in the game. York scored the next six points to take a 42-36 lead. • The Spartan lead vacillated between four and nine points over the next seven minutes of the game before Mary Washington cut the Spartan lead to one at 53-52 with 6:35 left in the game. The teams traded baskets and then York got back to back buckets from Myers and Matt Scamuffo to push the lead back to five with 3:19 left in the game.
