The Wolverines scored five of the final seven points of the half as they took a 32-19 edge to the intermission.
• The Spartans battled back as they opened the second stanza on a 13-5 run, drawing to within five at at 37-32 with 14:40 left in the game. The Wolverines would maintain the lead between five and 10 points over the next 10 minutes of play. Each time the Spartans would get close, the Wolverines would answer to keep York at bay.
• The Wolverines secured the win from the line over the final two minutes of the game. They were able to keep York at arm's length as Wesley went 8-for-8 over a critical 1:04 stretch late in regulation. The Wolverines didn't miss a free throw until there were eight seconds left in regulation and that was way too late for the Spartans. The Spartans did outscore Wesley 39-31 in the second half but the 13 point halftime deficit proved to be too much to overcome.
