YORK, PA-The York College women's
tennis squad posted an impressive 6-0 win over the Gallaudet Bison
in Capital Athletic Conference action on Thursday afternoon in
York. The Spartans improve to 2-0 overall and 1-0 in the CAC while
the Bison are now 0-1 overall and in the conference.
There were no matches conducted at fifth and
sixth singles or the third doubles due to Gallaudet dressing only
four players for the match.
In the doubles matches, the tandem of Erin Dolac
(Bangor, PA/Bangor Area) and Katie Muir (Forest Hill, MD/C. Milton
Wright) rolled to an 8-1 win in the first doubles. The second
doubles squad of Heidi Acker (Narvon, PA/Pequea Valley) and Paige
Doutrich (Gap, PA/Pequea Valley) notched an 8-0 win in their
match.
In singles play, all four Spartans won their
matches 6-0, 6-0. Dolac was the victor at first singles while Acker
eaned the second singles win. Meghan Bedard (Easton, PA/Wilson
Area) notched the third singles win while Megan Logan (West
Chester, PA/West Chester East) closed out the win at fourth
singles.
The Spartans play their third match in as many
days on Friday as they host Catholic in a CAC contest. The match is
slated to begin at 3:30 pm.
