Ryan Drenner

  • Title
    Assistant Coach - Offensive Coordinator

Ryan Drenner returns to the Spartan sidelines for the 2022 season as an assistant with the York Men’s Lacrosse program.

Drenner returns to York after spending the last year with 3D Lacrosse Georgia.  Prior to his role with 3D, Drenner spent 2 seasons as an assistant coach at McDaniel College where he directed the Green Terror offense. Back in 2018 Drenner was on the Spartan staff as an offensive assistant for a Spartan team that made it to the national quarterfinals and ranked in the top 10 nationally in several statistical offensive categories. In 2018, Drenner coached 5 USILA All-Americans on the offensive side of the ball.

Drenner has quickly become one of the premier attackmen in the world. Collegiately Drenner had a stellar playing career at Towson. The two-time USILA All-American helped lead the Tigers to the 2017 NCAA Division I Final Four. Following his senior season at Towson, Drenner was the 28th overall pick in the 2017 MLL Draft and played his first season of professional lacrosse with the Florida Launch. Drenner played for the Whipsnakes Lacrosse Club in the inaugural season of the Premier Lacrosse League and helped his team to the first ever PLL Championship. In that same year, he was a PLL All-Star and led the league in game winning goals. In his 3rd year in the PLL, Drenner finished 5th in the league in goals and was again named an all-star this time representing the Cannons Lacrosse Club.

"We are thrilled to have Ryan back on our coaching staff here at York," head coach Brandon Childs said. "Ryan is a hard worker who has a great lacrosse IQ and a keen eye for the game. He has played for some of the best coaches in the game and he brings a new perspective to our offense."
