Brandon Childs

York College head coach Brandon Childs is entering his sixteenth year at the helm of the Spartan men’s lacrosse program.

Childs is the winningest coach in York men’s lacrosse history and is one of the fastest coaches in the country to reach the 250 career win milestone. In his tenure, he has built a program that consistently ranks among the top 10 nationally and has become a model of sustained excellence at the Division III level.

Under his leadership, York has captured 6 conference championships, made 10 NCAA Tournament appearances, and advanced deep into postseason play, including 6 NCAA Quarterfinal runs and a trip to the NCAA Semifinals in 2022. His teams have become known for their competitive consistency, elite player development, and strong academic performance.

Childs prides himself on developing the complete student-athlete and has mentored numerous All-Americans and 36 Scholar All-Americans while maintaining a program culture rooted in discipline, accountability, and excellence in all areas. His leadership has helped establish York as one of the premier programs in collegiate lacrosse.

A former standout player at Lynchburg College, Childs completed his playing career with 193 points (91 goals, 102 assists). At the time, his assist total stood as a school record and he earned USILA All-American honors twice, along with Scholar All-American recognition. A three-time All-Conference selection, he was later inducted into the Lynchburg College Athletic Hall of Fame in 2016.

Coach Childs emphasizes a program identity built on “serving others, working hard, and staying humble,” values that continue to serve as the compass for the Spartan lacrosse culture.

He resides in York with his wife, Annie, and their children, Ellie, Will, Abel, and Jude.
