Jeff Benchich enters his final year in the Green and White withexperience from the bullpen. Benchich, the nephew of former Spartanstandout Jon Benchich, is a competitive right-handed pitcher thatthrows a very heavy ball, getting a high rate of ground balls.Benchich is slated to see most of his innings toward the back endof the bullpen. Benchich has good mound presence and composure ashe struck out 12 in 16.1 innings of work last year. Benchich is abusiness administration major and is the son of Jeff Benchich andCarol Sapienza.
