York Competes at Galen Piper Challenge to Begin Season

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - The York College women's cross country team opened the season by finishing ninth out of 10 teams at the 16th Annual Galen Piper Challenge hosted by Shippensburg University on Friday evening.

George Washington finished first in the team standings with a score of 24 and landed six runners in the top-10. Shippensburg finished second, followed by Ship Alumni, Dickinson and Messiah in the top five.

Isabel Tenney led York in 73rd place with a time of 17:47.2 on the 4K course. Kayla Reidenbaugh (74th), Lily Arnold (75th), Taylor Wickard (82nd) and Angelina Hammond (83rd) rounded out the Spartan top-five.

York returns to competition on Friday, September 18 at the Stevenson Invitational.
