ST. DAVID'S, Pa. - The #8 York women's lacrosse team faced Eastern University, Wednesday afternoon. The Spartans had a dominant performance, defeating the Eagles, 24-2.

How it Happened
The Spartans ripped off 11 unanswered goals, taking a 11-0 lead to the end of the first quarter. Sydney Mentzer led the way with four points on two goals and two assists. Krista Yarusso dished out three assists in the opening quarter. 

The Green and White tacked on four more goals to start the second quarter. Eastern's first goal of the game with 16 seconds left in the second quarter. 

York shut out the Eagles in the third quarter while adding six more goals of their own, extending the lead to 21-1. Alyssa Lienhard tallied a hat-trick in the quarter. 

The Spartans tacked on three more goals in the fourth quarter. Eastern tallied its second goal of the game with under a minute left in the contest. 

Audrey Simoes started in the net for the Spartans, tallying two saves. 

Zoe Cassell and Emily Caputo also saw action in goal for the Green and White.
