YORK, Pa. – The Spartan baseball team played host to MAC Commonwealth foe, Messiah on Thursday afternoon. York was bested by the Falcons, 7-1, in the nine inning affair.

How It Happened
After three and a half scoreless innings to start the game, the Green and White got on the board first. 

In the bottom of the fourth inning, Richard Kline blasted a home run to put York ahead, 1-0. 

Just a half inning later, Messiah responded with two runs of their own in the top of the fifth. 

The Falcons scored two more runs in both the seventh and eighth innings, building a favorable 7-1 lead. 

Kline and Luke Moser recorded two hits each in the game for York. 

Three Spartans saw time on the bump this afternoon. 

Konnor Reeser started for the Green and White, tossing 5.0 innings and allowing only three hits, three walks, and two runs (zero earned). Reeser struck out five Falcons. 

Jake Ludwig followed, hurling 3.0 innings, while conceding five hits, five runs (three earned), and one walk. Ludwig struck out two. 

Eric Wolfer tossed the last inning for York, recording a clean sheet. Wolfer allowed zero hits and zero walks, while striking out two.
