Eighth-Ranked Spartans Dominate in Conference Opener

YORK, Pa. - The No. 8 York men's lacrosse team opened Commonwealth play with a 18-5 victory over Messiah at home on Wednesday night.

Highlights
Cory Bergmann was one-man wrecking crew for York to start the game as he scored three of the team's first four goals. Bobby Berg did the damage for Messiah and scored twice to cut the Falcon deficit to three midway through the second quarter.

York busted the game open with a 9-0 run which spanned midway through the second quarter to late in the third to give the Spartans a 14-2 lead. Davis Fisher fueled that run as he racked up four points on two goals and two assists. The Spartan defense limited the Falcons to just 10 total shots throughout the second and third quarters and caused five turnovers.

Bear Evans led the Spartan defensive effort with four caused turnovers to go along with five ground balls. Fisher led the offensive barrage with seven points on three goals and four assists. Ryan Hudson and Brady Watts combined to win 20 of 27 faceoffs.
