Men’s Wrestling Wins Three in Loss to Messiah

YORK, Pa. - The York men's wrestling team closed out their home dual slate with a 32-10 loss to Messiah in their annual showdown on Friday night.

Highlights
York's 1-2 punch of Jacob DelVecchio and Vincent Paolucci at the top of the lineup came through yet again and spotted the Spartans a 7-0 lead after two bouts. DelVecchio scored a pair of takedowns in the first period and held on for a 6-2 victory over Micah Lozano at 125 lbs. Paolucci went to work early and often in his 14-0 triumph over Caiden Heller at 133 lbs. The Sparta sophomore scored two takedowns, a reversal, five near fall points and racked up 3:06 in riding time.

The Falcons went on a run with six-straight victories from 141 lbs. through 184 lbs. and scored bonus points in each victory. Fifth-ranked Keegan Demarest highlighted Messiah's run with a seven-takedown performance in a 21-6 victory at 165 lbs. which lasted only 54 seconds. No. 15 Austin Brass sealed the win for the Falcons with a 17-2 victory at 184 lbs. which put Messiah ahead by 22 points with just two bouts left.

Second-ranked Josh Stahl gave York one more win for the night as he scored a third period takedown in a tight 6-0 victory over Tucker Seidel at 197 lbs.
