#5 Stevenson: 17-2
#14 York: 16-4

How It Happened
After a back-and-forth, but scoreless first quarter, the Spartans locked down the Mustangs in the second quarter and held the visitors shotless. York punctuated their stellar second quarter effort with an Olivia Miller goal on a penalty quarter with just under two minutes left and took a 1-0 lead into the halftime break.

The Spartans owned a 4-3 edge in total shots and a 6-3 margin in penalty corners at the midway point of the contest.

The Mustangs put the pressure on York throughout the third quarter and managed to tie the game, 1-1, in the 34th minute when Gracyn Catalano knocked in a rebound from a Lauren Tobin shot that was turned away by Maddy Merlack. Stevenson held York in check in the third as they owned a 4-2 edge in total shots and fended off three Spartans penalty corners.

York dug deep in the fourth quarter and went on the hunt for the go-ahead goal. The Spartans generated multiple corners midway through the period and were turned away by Mustang goalie Jordan Vrandenburgh twice. Following Vradenburgh's second save, the Mustangs attempt to clear the ball was intercepted by Jade Haines at the top of the circle. Haines sent a shot into traffic where Kelsey Shahan perfectly executed a deflection right in front of the cage for the eventual game-winning goal with 7:22 left.

The Spartans dominated the fourth quarter on their way to victory as they held the Mustangs without a shot and owned a 5-0 margin in penalty corners.
