ASTON, Pa. - The 24th-ranked York College field hockey team cruised to their second-straight Commonwealth victory in a 4-0 win at Neumann on Wednesday afternoon.

Team Records
#24 York: 8-3 (2-0 MACC)
Neumann: 6-4 (0-2 MACC)

How It Happened
The Spartans blitzed the Knights with an 11-1 shot margin in the opening quarter and took a 2-0 lead. Kate Egan opened the scoring in the seventh minute of play and Katelyn Landis added to the lead in the 14th minute with her fifth goal of the season. Neumann goalie Ly'Airrah Sanders helped keep a lid on an early blowout with five saves in the first quarter.

Egan gave York a 3-0 halftime lead after her second tally of the day which occurred in the 23rd minute of play with an assist from Landis. Egan now has eight goals on the season which leads the team.

The Spartans tacked on an early fourth-quarter tally for good measure when Claire Burrows buried her third goal of the season with an assist from Kelsey Shahan.

Maddy Merlack and Abby Smith combined for the team's third shutout of the season as each goalie posted a pair of saves on the day.
