St. David's, Pa. - The York College women's soccer team traveled to Eastern University for a MAC Commonwealth contest against the Eagles, Tuesday afternoon. The Spartans pulled away with the 2-1 victory, improving to 2-0-0 in conference play.

How it Happened
The Spartans scored in the 18th minute.
Lexi Mazzella accelerated past an Eastern defender and buried the ball in the lower right corner of the net, giving the Spartans an early 1-0 lead.
In the 39th minute, the Spartans threatened again.
Jena Witters attempted a cross that was deflected the ball into the net by an Eagle defender, past their own goalkeeper.
Just before the end of the first half, the Eagles got on the board. Corrine Myers lofted a shot over the York keeper, into the back of the net.
The Spartans outshot the Eagles by a 15-2 margin. York also had seven corner kicks, compared to Eastern's three.
