How It Happened
The Blazers edged out a 25-21 win to open the match after the set was tied 11 times and experienced five lead changes. After trailing 20-19, the Blazers ripped off four-straight points, fueled by a pair of aces by Kendall Massey, and held on to the lead the rest of the way.

The Spartans turned the tables and won the second set, 25-21, to even the match. York scored six unanswered points to erase a 18-17 deficit and clinch the match. Saniya Esters led the Spartans with four blocks to go along with a pair of kills in the set.

York absolutely dominated the Blazers in the third set, winning 25-7 to take a 2-1 match lead. The Spartans hit a collective .462 while holding Hood to just -.176. Liz Kerin put together a huge performance as she posted three kills and five blocks in the set.

The Blazers rallied back in the fourth set to even up the match by winning the set, 25-19. Hood used a vital 8-0 run in the middle of the set after they fell behind, 13-8, and never relinquished the lead the rest of the way.

Hood utilized another devastating 8-0 in the middle of the fifth set which resulted in commanding 11-5 lead which proved to be too much for a Spartan comeback bid.
