Spartans Notch Road Win Over Lancaster Bible

LANCASTER, Pa. - The Spartan women's volleyball team ran away with the final two sets to pull off a 3-1 victory at Lancaster Bible on Tuesday night.

How It Happened
York pulled out a 26-24 win in the opening set, utilizing back-to-back kills by Alex Helm to seal the deal. The Spartans and Chargers were tied seven times with just lead change throughout the frame with neither team leading by more than five points. Liz Kerin led York with three aces and five kills in the set while hitting .833 to open the match.

The Spartans jumped out to a 5-1 lead to start the second set, but Lancaster Bible came roaring back to claim a 25-17 victory and evened the match, 1-1. The Chargers hit a robust .359 with 17 kills and closed out the second set on a 10-4 run.

York dominated the final two sets, claiming victories of 25-15 and 25-16 to secure the match. The Spartans posted a sideout percentage of 80% in the third set and 70% in the fourth set, while combining for 24 kills to just eight errors. Kerin led the way with seven total kills in the final two sets while hitting over .400 in each set.

York is now 4-3 all-time against the Lancaster Bible and snapped a three-match losing streak to the Chargers … Liz Kerin led York with season-highs in kills (14) and aces (6) … Maddie Hoffman led the way with a season-high 26 assists … Hannah Runyard (21) and Darby Stetter (20) each posted career-highs for digs.
