YORK, PA – The York College women's tennis squad dropped a 7-0 MAC Commonwealth decision to Albright College on a sunny, but cool, Wednesday afternoon in York.
The Lions improve to 11-0 overall and 2-0 on the Commonwealth. The Spartans fall to 4-5 overall and 0-2 in the league as York has dropped three straight.
The Lions captured the doubles point as they swept the three doubles matches. The tandem of
Bri Serruto and
Maddi Haggerty dropped a tightly contested 6-4 first doubles match against Alex Pancu and Allison Horick.
Hannah Sult had York's strongest showing in the second singles match as she dropped a 6-0, 3-6, 6-3 decision to Michelle Timothy. The Lions won the remaining singles matches in straight sets.
The Spartans are slated to return to action on Friday afternoon as they host McDaniel College in a non-conference contest. The action is set for a 4:00 pm start.
