How It Happened
• The game was scoreless for the first three and a half innings before the River Hawks posted a four-run fourth inning. Susquehanna got a pair of two-run homers in the inning. York got on the board in the top of the fifth as York loaded the bases with one out. Jacob Deimling scored one run with a sacrifice fly and Chris Betler followed with an RBI single as York's deficit was 4-2.
• The Spartans plated three runs in the top of the sixth. Joe Urban led off the frame with his fourth home run of the year. York's other two runs in the inning came on a balk and a River Hawk throwing error. Susquehanna responded in a big way in the bottom of the sixth as they pushed across six runs on five hits, two walks and a hit batter. The River Hawk lead was 10-5 heading to the seventh.
• After a quiet seventh inning, the Spartans got back into the game as junior Alex Neeld blasted a pinch-hit, three-run bomb to center, cutting the Spartan deficit to 10-8. York started off the ninth inning with a Ryan Niedzialkowski double to right center. After a foul out, Niedzialkowski moved to third on a wild pitch. Richard Kline scored York's ninth run of the game on an RBI single to left. Pinch runner Luke Moser moved to second on a balk and scored the tying run on a Chris Nesensohn triple to left center. Nesensohn scored the game-winning run as Matthew Wade singled up the middle to give York an 11-10 lead.
• Grad closer Ethan Kennedy surrendered a lead-off single but was able to get out of the jam in picking up his ninth save of the year.
