READING, PA – The York College men's tennis team ran their win streak to four with a 6-1 MAC Commonwealth win at Alvernia University on Wednesday afternoon in Reading.

The Spartans improve to 10-2 overall and 2-1 in the MAC Commonwealth. The Golden Wolves fall to 1-5 overall and 1-3 in the league.

York captured the doubles point with a second doubles win from
Ian Bartles and
Hayden Musser as they earned a 6-4 win.
Jason Lutz and
Drew Heinzelmann won the third doubles match by forfeit as Alvernia was unable to field a third doubles team due to injury. The Golden Wolves did earn a 6-0 first doubles win.

The Green and White started singles play with forfeit wins for
Evan Stehman at fourth singles,
Parker Sanders at fifth singles and Musser at sixth singles as they lead 4-0 before a shot was hit in singles play. Heinzelmann earned a hard-fought first singles win over Lucas Berger. Heinzelmann won 6-3, 5-7, and 10-8.

The Golden Wolves won the second singles match but York's
Ben Dorsey rolled to a third singles win, 6-4, 6-2, downing Luke Brisbois to provide for the final 6-1 margin of victory.

The Spartans return to action on Tuesday afternoon as they host Stevenson University in a MAC Commonwealth contest. The match is slated for a 3:30 pm start at the Myers Tennis Complex.
