YORK, PA – The York College men's tennis team began their final week of the regular season with a tight 4-3 MAC Commonwealth win over Stevenson on Tuesday at the Myers Tennis Complex in York.

The Spartans improve to 11-2 overall and 3-1 in the MAC Commonwealth. The Mustangs fall to 7-8 overall and 3-2 in the conference. These two teams could very likely meet again in next week's MAC Commonwealth tournament semifinals.

York began the day by winning two of the three doubles matches to earn the doubles point. The Spartan duo of
Jason Lutz and
Ian Bartles posted a 6-3 second doubles win for York. The combo of
Drew Heinzelmann and
Hayden Musser rolled to a 6-1 third doubles win to capture the point.

Stevenson earned wins at first and second singles to take a 2-1 lead. Heinzelmann recorded a 6-2, 7-6 (7-3) third singles win for the Green and White. Senior
Ben Dorsey posted a dominant 6-0, 6-2 fourth singles win for the Green and White.

The Mustangs Nate Kelly outlasted York's
Evan Stehman 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 in a competitive fifth singles match. The Spartans got another strong showing from Musser as the senior earned a 6-3, 3-6, 6-2 sixth singles win over Nickolas Valis to secure the Spartan victory.

York returns to action Saturday when they head to Frederick, Maryland to take on the Hood College Blazers in match scheduled for a noon start. York then closes out their regular season on Sunday at 1:00 pm at Eastern University.
