How It Happened

York responded in the third inning and tied the game up, 1-1. After the first seven Spartans were retired in order, Morgan Sauers roped a double to left center to give the Spartans their first base runner of the day. Two batters later, Jordyn Woodling traded places with Sauers as she poked a double to right field to put York on the board.

After three-straight scoreless frames for both teams, the Bullets eyed a walk-off with the game tied, 1-1, in the bottom of the seventh. Jamie Shaw set the table as she led off the inning with a triple and Elliana Hopple cleaned up with a single to left field which drove in Shaw for the winning run.

Paige Forry picked up her 15th win of the season for Gettysburg as she struck out a career-high 12 batters with just one walk and allowed five hits.

How It Happened
The Spartans jumped on top with three runs in the top of the first inning after opening the game with four-straight hits. Gretchen Barstad put York on the board with a two-run triple which drove in Woodling and Sauers. Alexis McDonaugh followed Barstad with an RBI-single through the right side before the Gettysburg defense recorded three-straight outs to end the inning.

The Bullets came firing back in the second inning and hung five runs on the board with three hits to take a 5-3 lead. Morgan DeFreitas highlighted the rally with a two-out, three-run double to right field.

The Spartans responded in the top of the fifth with three more runs to regain the lead. Danella Silagy kept the inning alive with an infield single which loaded the bases. Riley Dreyer came through with a clutch single through the left side to drive in Devyn McFarland from third and then Woodling came through again with a two-run single which drove in Bri McKeown and Silagy.

Gettysburg took back the lead in the bottom of the fifth by scoring two runs on a wild pitch and a Spartan fielding error.

The Bullets extended their lead with two more runs in the sixth by scoring again on a Spartan field error and an RBI-single by Anika Pelekis. The Spartans went down in order in the top of the seventh to cap off the doubleheader.

Audrey Wright earned her seventh win of the season after striking out four, walking two and surrendering all six runs in 5.0 innings of work. Forry picked up her third save of the season for Gettysburg as she racked up four more strikeouts in 2.0 scoreless innings of relief work.
