How It Happened
• The Profs couldn't have gotten off to a much better start as Jason Morgan stroked a double to right center on the second pitch of the game. He came around to score when Phil Sedalis singled to center for the 1-0 Rowan lead. Dillon Michaloski got the next two hitters before Nick Struble singled through the right side for the 2-0 lead. Michaloski got out of the inning with a fielder's choice as the Spartans trailed 2-0.
• The Spartans tied the game two batters into the bottom of the first. Lucas Prendergast doubled to right and came around to score when Michael Tinneny ripped a two-run homer to right, tying the game at two.
• York took the lead for good in the second as Chris Nesensohn singled to left with one out. He moved to second on a ground out and scored on a Prendergast RBI single to center. York pushed the lead to 5-2 when Ryan Niedzialkowski reached on an error and came around to score on Alex Neeld's team-leading seventh home run of the year.
• Rowan cut the Spartan lead to 5-3 in the fifth as Joey Bogart doubled to lead off the frame. He moved to third on a ground out to second before scoring on a Morgan single to right. York got that run right back in the fifth as Jacob Deimling singled and moved to third on a Neeld double off the right field wall. Gabe Trevena plated Deimling with an RBI ground out for a 6-3 lead.
• York made it 7-3 as they loaded the bases with one out and scored a run on wild pitch for the 7-3 lead. The Profs threatened in the seventh as they had runners at first and second with no outs. Bryce Shaffer came out of the pen and got a fly out for out number one. He then got a fielder's choice where York cut a run down at the plate. Shaffer ended the threat with a strikeout to end the inning.
• York tacked on two runs in the bottom of the eighth to close out the scoring. Ethan Kennedy came on to pitch the ninth as he retired the Profs in order.
