How It Happened
The Spartans came out slinging and scored four-straight goals in the first nine minutes and later tacked on a fifth to take a 5-1 lead after one quarter of play. Five different Spartans scored in the quarter as Cory Bergmann and Davis Fisher had two points each.

The two teams traded goals twice in the second quarter as the Spartans owned a 7-3 halftime lead. The York defense held tough as they held the Yellow Jackets to just seven total shots despite RMC winning the faceoff battle, 4-1.

The Spartans put the game away in the third quarter with a dominant performance on both ends. The offense opened the period on a 4-0 run with four different goal scorers and RMC contributed a fifth late in the quarter with an own goal. Spartan goalie Nash Womack stood on his head and compiled eight saves on just 11 total shots faced and only surrendered a pair as York owned a 12-5 lead with a quarter left.

Spartan goalies Womack, Jack Keller and AJ Apel combined for seven more saves with just two goals allowed in the fourth quarter to seal up the win. Gavin Gismondi put a bow on the victory with a pair of fourth quarter goals to bring his total to five on the day.
