HEMPFIELD, PA – The York College women's tennis team won their fourth straight match with a 7-0 win over Lancaster Bible College on Saturday afternoon at the Hempfield Raquet Club.
The Spartans improve to 4-2 overall while the Chargers fall to 3-4 for the campaign.
The Green and White won the two contested doubles matches to take the doubles point.
Bri Serruto and
Maddi Haggerty combined to win the first doubles match 6-2.
Hannah Sult and
Kennedy Conte earned a 6-3 second doubles match win as York led 1-0. York won the third doubles match by forfeit.
Serruto kicked off singles play with a 6-2, 6-2 first singles win for the Spartans. Haggerty cruised to a 6-1, 6-0 second singles win to put York up 3-0. Kennedy earned a 6-2, 6-2 third singles win for York while
Mia Leonhartt posted a 6-0, 6-4 fourth singles win.
Caraline Junkin outlasted Becky Dimov 1-6, 7-6, 10-3 fifth singles win. There was no sixth singles contest in the match as Sult won by forfeit.
The Spartans are now off until next Sunday when they return to action against Dickinson in a non-conference contest. The action kicks off at the Myers Tennis Complex at 12:00 pm.
