How It Happened
• After two scoreless innings to start the game, the Lions broke through in the third inning. The Spartans got a double play after a single to open the inning but Blaine Waltimyer doubled with two outs. Carlos Irizarry singled to center to score Waltimyer. Irizarry moved to second on a Spartan error, putting himself in scoring position. Demetre Koutras singled to short to score Irizarry for the 2-0 lead.
• The Lions added a run in the fourth on an RBI ground out by Lucas Floyd. The Lions made it 4-0 in the fifth as Cory Schwanger singled to second with the bases loaded for the run. The Spartans got out of trouble without any further damage as the Lions left the bases loaded.
• York got their first run of the game on a Lion error as Chris Betler hit a rocket right at the right fielder that was dropped, allowing a run to score. Harrisburg got that run right back in the top of the sixth as Waltimyer singled to right to score Floyd with the Lions' fifth run.
• York tried to put a rally together in the bottom of the eighth. Matthew Wade singled to start the inning. Wade moved to second on a wild pitch and scored on a Chris Nesensohn RBI single to left center. After a fly out to center, Lucas Prendergast was hit by a pitch. Lion hurler Jack Maguire got out of the jam with a strikeout and a ground out to end the York threat.
• Harrisburg got two insurance runs in the ninth for the 7-2 lead. York got a pair of runners on in the bottom of the inning but wouldn't be able to push any additional runs home.
