Spartan Men Remain in Third After Day Three of Championships

Freshman Bryce Miller earned a gold in the 100 backstroke

YORK, PA – The York College men's swim squad continued to stay firmly entrenched in third place at the 2025 MAC Championships after day three of the four day meet.

The Spartans have accumulated 838 points for the championships. Stevens remains in first with 1,197 points while they are being chased by Widener as the Pride is in second with 1083 points. Misericordia (605 points) are behind the Spartans in fourth while Arcadia is currently fifth in the 11-team championships with 596 points.

The Spartans got a pair of medals on Saturday night. Freshman Bryce Miller continued his strong championships with a win in the 100 backstroke. Miller touched the wall in a time of 50.76 to win the race by a little over a second. Miller is now a two-time medalist after he earned bronze in the 200 IM on Thursday.

The 800 free relay team consisting of Will McDermott, Ryan Gray, Nick Bordovsky, and Liam Perrin combined to post a time of 7:09.79. The Spartan relay squads have now won four total medals with three golds (200 medley, 200 free, and 400 medley) and a bronze.

Alex Daniele just missed earning a bronze of his own in the 200 fly as he placed fourth with a time of 1:56.12. Teammate Brady Tipton placed 16th in the 200 fly with a time of 2:08.24.

Sophomore Cooper Stiles was York's final top 16 finisher for the night as he was fifth in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 58.24.

Up Next
The Spartans wrap up the 2005 MAC Championships on Sunday as they will get back into the pool at 9:30 am for the day four preliminaries. The prelims include the 100 free, the 200 back, the 200 breast and the 1650 free. The finals are set for a 5:30 pm start on Sunday evening.
