Volleyball Falls Twice at LVC Tri-Match

ANNVILLE, Pa. - The Spartan women's volleyball team sustained a pair of five-set losses to Lebanon Valley and Neumann on Saturday in a tri-match hosted by LVC.

How It Happened
The Spartans opened the day with a 3-2 loss to Lebanon Valley in a grueling back-and-forth battle. York won the second and third sets, 28-26 and 26-24, while the Dutchmen claimed wins in the first, fourth and fifth sets by scores of 25-16, 25-20 and 15-12. LVC's Mattea Penner led all players with 15 kills, while Morgan Nolte led all players with six blocks, Maddie Hoffman posted a match-leading 43 assists and Sami Baer led all players with 24 digs.

York ended the day with another 3-2 setback, this time to Neumann. The Spartans again fought back from a 1-0 deficit to win the second and third sets, 25-17 and 25-19. The Knights posted a 25-11 win in the first set and claimed a 25-19 win in the fourth set with a 15-10 victory in the decisive fifth set. Julia Solomon led the Knights to victory with 20 kills, while her teammates Kyla Carney led all players with 42 assists and Hannah Strohm led the way with 23 digs.
