Box Score READING, PA – The York College women's soccer squad rolled to a 3-0 MAC Commonwealth win at Alvernia University on a damp Saturday evening in Reading.

Meg Kalthof had a big night with a season-high five points on two goals and an assist as she had a hand in all three Spartan goals for the night.
York is now 8-3-2 overall and 2-0 in the MAC Commonwealth. The Golden Wolves fall to 4-6-3 overall and 0-2 in the league.

How It Happened
• The Spartans got on the board early as they struck for a goal in the 15
th minutes of play. York played a nice series of passes up the spine of the field.
Carissa Baugus slipped a nifty pass to the top of the box where
Meg Kalthof collected the pass and finished off the shot for the 1-0 lead.
• The Green and White added to the lead in the 32
nd minute. Senior
Abby Brown drove the left endline and flicked a pass into the center of the box. Kalthof was in the right place as she buried a shot inside the crossbar for the 2-0 lead.
• Much of the first half was played in a steady rain but that didn't prevent the Spartans from outshooting Alvernia 11-2 overall and 6-2 in shots on goal. York had two corner kicks to one for the hosts.
• The Green and White added to the lead in the 53
rd minute as Kalthof was again in the middle of the scoring. Kalthof collected a throw in on the right wing. She made a nice side-step move and floated a pass into the center of the box.
Lexi Mazzella headed home the pass for the 3-0 lead.
• The Spartans finished the game with a 26-4 bulge in total shots and a 10-2 margin in shots on goal. The Green and White had a slight 4-3 margin in corner kicks for the evening.
