YORK, PA – The York College men's tennis team returned to the court after a three week lay off on Friday. They fell 7-0 to Allegheny College Friday afternoon at a sunny, but breezy, Myers Tennis Complex in York.
The Gators rolled to wins in all three doubles matches to earn the doubles point. The Spartan second doubles combination of
Drew Heinzelmann and
Chase Fronczkiewicz played well but fell 6-3 in their match.
Allegheny swept through the six singles matches, winning them all in straight sets. Heinzelmann dropped a 6-3, 6-0 decision at first singles in one of the closer matches for the Spartans.
Ian Bartles also won three games for the Spartans as he dropped a 6-1, 6-2 fourth singles decision.
The Spartans return to action on Tuesday afternoon as they head to Towson, MD to face off against Goucher College in a non-conference match. The match is slated for a 4:00 pm start.
