OWINGS MILLS, MD – The York College men's basketball team got a career-high 29 points from guard
Chris Miers as the Spartans downed Stevenson University 95-78 in a MAC Commonwealth contest on Wednesday in Owings Mills, Maryland.
The Spartans shot 50% from three as they made a season-high 16 three-pointers in the win. York jumped out to a big first half lead and finished off the game to remain unbeaten in the league.
The Spartans improve to 10-4 overall and 3-0 in the league. The Mustangs fall to 6-8 overall and 0-3 in the conference.

How It Happened
• The game was close early on as the Spartans led 12-10 less than five minutes into the game. The Spartans scored six of the next eight points of the game to take an 18-12 lead. The Mustangs scored four straight from the line but York hit the Mustangs with a 14-2 spurt to take a 32-19 lead with 8:39 left in the half. The highlight from the run was

• After Joey Lutz hit a three for the Mustangs, York scored 17 of the next 30 points to take a 49-35 halftime lead. The Spartans were on-point from distance in the opening 20 minutes as they converted 11-of-18 (61.1%) from three.
• The Spartans sprinted out of the halftime break with a 10-2 run to take a 59-37 lead. The 22 point margin was the high water mark of the game for the Green and White. Cameron Sapienza went on a personal 12-2 run as he hit four triples in the span of two minutes, trimming the Spartan lead to 12 with 13:31 left in the game. The Mustangs eventually got the Spartan lead in single figures at nine on a Lutz three midway through the half.
• York went on a 12-5 run inside the final five minutes to take an 87-70 lead with 1:45 left in the game. The Green and White finished off the game to earn their second conference road win of the year. Â
