How It Happened
• The Blue Jays struck for a pair of runs in the top of the first. David Woolley led off the game with a single to center. Quinten Perilli then drove home Woolley with a two run shot to right for his tenth home run of the year, giving the Blue Jays the 2-0 lead.
• Elizabethtown added to the lead in the fourth as AJ Bednar homered to left with two outs in the inning. The Green and White got that run back in the bottom of the fourth as they got runners to first and second with two outs.
Gabe Trevena singled to right, driving in the first Spartan run.
• York added another single run in the bottom of the fifth as
Michael Tinneny led off the inning with a single to center. After a fly out,
Andrew Santarpia doubled to left, scoring Tinneny with York's second run of the game. The Spartans loaded the bases with two outs but a ground out ended the inning.
• The Blue Jays manufactured a run in the sixth as Bryce Keller drew a lead-off walk. Elizabethtown sacrificed Keller to second and he came around to score on a Bednar single to right.
• York trimmed the Blue Jay lead by one in the eighth as
Lucas Prendergast doubled to lead off the inning. Prendergast moved to third on a ground out and came around to score on a Tinneny sacrifice fly. The Blue Jays intentionally walked
Chris Betler but got the final out of the inning on a ground out as they took a 4-3 lead to the ninth.
• After closer
Ethan Kennedy navigated his way through the top of the ninth, the Spartans got a great start to the bottom of the ninth.
Connor Pickle doubled down the right field line to put the tying run in scoring position with no outs.
Chris Nesensohn sacrificed Pickle to third and, after a ground out to the pitcher, Pickle scored on a Prendergast infield single, tying the game at four.
• The Blue Jays responded immediately in the top of the tenth as RJ Agriss led off the inning with a single. Elizabethtown sacrificed him to second. Mason Woolwine blasted a homer to left, giving the visitors the 6-4 lead. The Blue Jays added another run on a JM Musser RBI single to left.
• York loaded the bases to start the bottom of the tenth.
Robby Elzinga opened the frame with an infield single. Tinneny got hit by a pitch and Betler walked to load the bases. Blue Jays reliever Zac Silfies buckled down and got a strikeout, a line out and a strikeout to preserve the lead and close out the game.
