• The Bullets loaded the bases in the top of the sixth thanks to a walk and a pair of hit batters. However, Coppage got a pop up, a great play by Sauers at short followed by a strikeout to get out of the jam. How It Happened
• The Spartans opened the scoring with a first inning tally.
Rylee Dreyer was hit by a pitch with one out.
Gretchen Barstad blasted double down the left field line to move Dreyer to third.
Daphney Adams plated Dreyer with a sacrifice fly to center.
• After a quiet second inning, the Bullets put together a four-run inning in the top of the third. Bailey Quinn walked to lead off the inning. After a ground out moved Quinn to second, Elliana Hopple was hit by a pitch. Another walk loaded the bases for the Bullets. Gabby Wood then drew a walk to score Gettysburg's first run. Emily Bakker stroked a double to deep right center to score a pair. Fortunately for York, a great relay cut down Wood at the plate for the second out of the inning. Jordan Pansy singled home Bakker for the 4-1 lead.
• York got two runs back in the bottom of the fourth as
Gretchen Barstad ripped a sharp single to center. After a flyout to center,
Emma Wade blasted a two-run shot to left center, cutting the Spartan deficit to 4-3.
• The Bullets responded in the top of the fifth with a run on three hits to take a 5-3 lead. It could have been worse as Gettysburg left the bases loaded. The Bullets added another single run in the top of the sixth with a pair of hits and a walk for the 6-3 lead.
• Barstad and Wade each singled in the sixth but Gettysburg starter Isabella Santiago would leave them stranded to maintain the three-run lead. The Spartans went in order in the seventh as Santiago did a great job against the Spartan lineup. Santiago scattered five hits as she struck out five and did not walk a batter as she improves to 4-1.
