WESTMINSTER, MD – The York College men's tennis team dropped a 5-4 non-conference decision at McDaniel on Monday afternoon in Westminster, Maryland.
The Spartans fall to 4-9 overall while the Green Terror improve to 7-7.
The Green Terror took two of the three doubles matches to break out to the 2-1 lead. The Spartans' second doubles duo of
Evan Stehman and
Hayden Musser rolled to an 8-1 win in their match for York's lone doubles point.
The Spartans took a 3-2 lead as Stehman notched a 6-1, 6-0 third singles win to tie the match at two.
Jason Lutz earned a 6-1, 6-0 second singles win for the Green and White. The Green Terror tied the match at three with a first singles win.
McDaniel went up by a point with a fourth singles win but York got a 7-5, 3-6, 11-9 fifth singles win from
Emmet Larson, tying the match at four. The Green Terror earned a sixth singles win from Drew Ryder, knocking off the Spartans 5-4.
York returns to action on Tuesday when they travel to Stevenson University for a MAC Commonwealth match. The contest is slated for a 3:30 pm start in Owings Mills.
